Luscious Lacroix – The Perfect Parisian Boudouir

16 Aug

GirlSeekingShoe here.

So, I haven’t posted in a while, because it’s shaping up to be a very busy summer. I went to America, did some amazing shopping, but more of that in another post.

I just had to review the hotel I stayed in whilst in Paris, as it blew my mind.

The Hotel du Petit Moulin is a 4* hotel converted from what is rumoured to be the oldest surviving bakery in Paris. Allegedly once the favourite bakery of the French King Henry IV, all aspects of the hotel’s design is owed to the genius of Christian Lacroix,  which he renovated whilst preserving the original exterior. Even the business cards are designed by him!

The hotel, which opened in 2006, only has 17 rooms, each individually styled, some with Lacroix’s original illustrations on the walls. I discovered that the walls of the room I was in were actually lined with fabric, and padded! The bathroom was all black, and very chic, whereas the rooms was stunningly eclectic, the definition of Parisian bohemian style.

I would totally recommend looking at pictures of this hotel; any style addict would agree that this room pales in comparison to some of the more eclectic options. Plus it inspired some fabulous outfits!
