Have we met?

19 Apr

Roger Vivier (1918-1938) for Christian Dior

Well, I suppose I should introduce myself.

GirlSeeksShoe here, pleased to make your acquaintance. I am a born and bred Londoner (well, Greater London at least; but my heart is there) and here are three things you should know about me and my shiny new blog:

1. This is intended as a fashion and beauty blog, but will probably take several twist and turns into the foray of popular culture, history, architecture, and anything else that happens to be on my mind. But, as a promise to you, my faithful reader, I will always end up back at my roots… as a fashion and beauty blogger.

2. I am …… I …… I am a …… a …… a shoe-addict! There, I said it. So, if any of you lovely ladies or gentlemen are mortally offended by frequent references to my latest pair of much-coveted footwear, I’m sorry. I think our acquaintance shall be a short one. Oh, and add chocaholic to my list of vices. What? I never said I was flawless.

3. I am a poor, impoverished university student, who cannot afford all the beautiful things she sees in the shop windows of Oxford Street and Bond Street *cue violins*. Therefore, my focus will be on translating these castles in the air* into affordable fashion. As in, things I can actually afford. Fear not, my own focus aside, I am not the type who can easily ignore high fashion and the honey-coated words of Vogue, so there will be plenty of pretty pictures.

As a further warning, I am studying English for three years … I obviously adore books, so there will be plenty of references to literature (and probably to university life as well).
