Pottermore Revealed – Rowling Annnounces New Interactive World, and E-Books

23 Jun

GirlSeeksShoe here.

I won’t lie; the cynical part of me expected to be disappointed by this new revelation, with it’s big build-up and fancy publicising techniques.

But, boy, was I wrong.

I have never been happier to be proven wrong in my life.

“An online reading experience unlike any other.”

“Built by the reader” Pottermore is an interactive reading experience, and I gather that we will be getting more information on the world of Harry Potter, as well as being able to participate in the books. The website, which is part social-networking forum and part computer game, allows fans to access material cut from the original books and read insights from the author along the way. It opens in October, but a few will be able to participate early… we need to follow the owl apparently.

And, my favourite bit of the announcement, is that Harry Potter is finally, finally, coming to Kindle. *Beaming*

Check out the announcement here and here.

Just not yet, because it seems the website has crashed. Fans gone wild or what?

Pottermore!

18 Jun

GirlSeeksShoe here.

As a die-hard Harry Potter fan I am deadly excited about J.K. Rowling’s new mysterious project, which she is set to unveil  on the 23rd of June. Theories range from an encyclopedia of all things Potter, a new video game, Harry Potter e-books (yes please!), and even a real-life Hogwarts. Personally, I’m hoping from something to do with next generation of Potters and Weasleys, preferably a book.

So check out the website and YouTube page here, and tell me in the comments whether you think this will be ground-breaking or disappointing.
