This month the English National Ballet will stage a catwalk show of tutus created by leading fashion designers. Erdem, Giles Deacon, Moschino and Bruce Oldfield are among those who have designed tutus which will be modelled by star ballerinas. The tutus will then be auctioned to raise money for the company. Th costumes add a new modern twist to the classical beauty of tutus… even Agent Provocateur have designed one! Have a look at some of the upcoming delights:

In other ballet news, I am très allumé about seeing Carlos Acosta in Romeo and Juliet at the O2 next Saturday. I have always wanted to see him perform live, and the Royal Ballet’s productions are always gorgeous. I’ll let you know how good the outfits were… and how well they were worn. In the words of Coco Chanel;

“A beautiful dress may look beautiful on a hanger, but that means nothing. It must be seen on the shoulders, with the movement of the arms, the legs, and the waist.”
